I walk amongst the modern West and, only three generations later, now question what are the truly “good things” that were allegedly fought for in WWⅡ; I believe the average soldier did not really know at all and would lay down their guns if they could see the future. Radical thoughts, I know. We do need to “know ourself” and we desperately need “national pride”, but the ideology that seemingly won WWⅡ ensures that neither happens in the West.
